ISORA Viking Marine Coastal Series 2016 - First Race Report

The first of the ISORA races saw a record entry of 20 boats (+6 boats on the day race to Pwelhli).

With light wind forecast, the Race Committee had to change the course of the 29 nautical miles race. Originally planned to pass by North Arklow, it got modified to the following route:

- Dun Laoghaire to South Burford (s)

- South Burford (s) to North India (s)

- North India (s) to South India (s)

- Finish line in Wicklow. 

After an eventful finish, the victory has been attributed to Liam Shanahan's "Ruth". The J-109 boat had to seek redress after a technical issue at the finish line. The boat takes line of honours, winning overall and Class 1.
