Viking Marine ILCA 6 World Championship Update - Day 4

Eve McMahon Climbs to Seventh as Charlotte Rose Regains the Lead

With the ILCA 6 Women’s World Championship taking place just outside our door in Dún Laoghaire, Viking Marine is following the racing throughout the week, with particular attention on the four Irish sailors competing against the world’s best.
Ireland’s Eve McMahon has climbed to seventh overall after a strong second day of Elimination Series racing, while American Charlotte Rose has returned to the top of the championship standings.

Three races were completed in both the Gold and Silver fleets, bringing the championship total to nine. The provisional results do not include authoritative information on the wind or sea conditions, so these details have not been inferred.
McMahon produced two second-place finishes in the Gold fleet before recording a 31st, which is currently her discarded result. The Howth Yacht Club sailor moves from 11th to seventh overall on 70 net points.

Rose finished fourth, 23rd and first to regain the championship lead on 20 points. Belgium’s Emma Plasschaert drops to second on 33 points after scores of ninth, seventh and 15th.

Denmark’s Anna Munch is one point further back in third after recording a race victory, a 15th and a third. The Netherlands’ Maxime Jonker is fourth on 40 points, with New Zealand’s Greta Pilkington fifth on 53.

Hungary’s Mária Érdi is sixth on 62 points, eight ahead of McMahon. Poland’s Agata Barwińska, Britain’s Hannah Snellgrove and Matilda Nicholls complete the top ten.
Annalise Murphy improved as the day progressed, recording 27th, 37th and 13th-place finishes. The National Yacht Club sailor moves from 32nd to 21st overall on 131 points.

In the Silver fleet, Sienna Wright recorded fifth, fourth and 24th-place finishes. She now leads the fleet and sits 55th overall on 139 points.

Lucy Ives added finishes of 23rd, 23rd and 21st and remains 77th overall.
The championship continues on Friday, with McMahon now inside the top ten and firmly in contention ahead of the concluding stage on Saturday.
