Proudly supporting Stella Maris charity

Following an initiative from the Royal St George Yacht Club and supported by the Royal Irish Yacht Club, the National Yacht Club and the Dublin Bay Sailing Club, we are asking all sailors who are thinking about replacing their sailing gear over the winter to bring it to us on Saturday the 24th of September 2016 and throughout the following week. The gear will go to the Stella Maris charity, an international charity dedicated to the relief of need, hardship and distress among seafarers. Annalise Murphy : Silver Lady

Throughout what we can only call an intense race, Annalise played a very good tactical game and came out with the Silver medal in Rio making her the first sailor medalist since 1980. This must feel pretty sweet for the National Yacht Club sailor. Yesterday, as she was talking to the media just after the race, she couldn't tell if she was crying or laughing and we can't blame her for it. One thing is sure, there was a great atmosphere in Dun Laoghaire last night thanks to her and we can't wait to see her home for some well deserve celebrations.  ...

Irish sailor wins the 2016 Volvo Gill Optimist National and British Open Championship

Tom Higgins from the Royal St George Yacht Club won the Volvo Gill Optimist National and British Open Championship on the 5th of August. After Ewan McMahon's silver medal at the KBC Laser Radial World Championships, the Irish sailing promises to have a bright future. We also had some wins worth mentioning in the junior fleet and the regatta race: - Justin Lucas 3rd from the RCYC - Junior Fleet - Russell Bolger 2nd - Jessica Jordan 3rd both from the RSGYC - Regatta race.
