International Pre-Kote is a single pack undercoat, specially formulated for marine conditions and for use on all substrates under one-pack topcoats. It  offers superb opacity and long-life.

Use White for light colours and Blue Grey for all darker colours 



In Good Condition : Wash with a suitable detergent, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry. Abrade with 280 ­320 grade (grit) paper. 

In Poor Condition:  Remove all previous coatings and prime the substrate. 

BARE WOOD Sand smooth with 80­-180 grade paper and then 280 grade paper. Remove sanding dust by brushing, dusting and wiping. If wiping with solvent then allow to dry completely before applying primer. Prime using an International primer as detailed for specific coating systems. 

STEEL Degrease with solvent or suitable detergent cleaner. Gritblast to Sa 2½ ­ near white metal surface. If gritblasting is not possible, grind the metal surface with 24­36 grit abrasive discs to a uniform, clean, bright metal surface with a 50­ 75 microns anchor pattern. Use angle grinder on small areas. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry. Prime using an International primer as detailed for specific coating systems. 

ALUMINIUM Degrease with solvent or suitable detergent cleaner. Sand well using 24­120 grade (aluminium compatible) paper. Coarser grades are recommended to achieve optimum adhesion. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry. Prime using an International primer as soon as possible (within 8 hours) following product recommendations. 

GRP Degrease with solvent or suitable detergent cleaner. Sand well using 180-­220 grade paper. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry. No primer required ­, apply International Pre­Kote direct to GRP.


Apply 1- ­2 coats. If maximum overcoating time of previous coating/primer is exceeded, abrade using 220- ­320 grade wet or dry paper. Remove dust with a dust wipe. To give extra depth of colour, blend the final coat of Pre­Kote 50:50 with Toplac.


Mixing : Stir well before use. 

Thinner: International Thinner No.1 (Thinner 910 for professional application only)

    We endeavour to ship all Internet orders received before 12.00 noon the same day.

    Internet orders received after 12:00 noon will be shipped next day (approx delivery time Ireland 2-3 working days).

    Delays may be experienced during certain times of the year and if this is the case we will contact you as soon as possible via email.

    We reserve the right to change these conditions due to unforeseen circumstances or if an item has run out of stock and has to be specially ordered in. We will keep you updated of any changes to the best of our ability.

    Inclusion of any product on our website is not a guarantee of it being in stock at the time of ordering. We stock one of the most comprehensive ranges of sailing equipment in the country. However situations beyond our control may occasionally result in an item(s) being temporarily unavailable.

    • Items discontinued by manufacturers or that are no longer available: we aim to remove from our website as quickly as possible, but remember, we are only human after all.
    • If we are unable to supply any item(s) within 7 days, you will be contacted by telephone or email to offer alternatives or cancel your order. Available to order items, marked to follow will be sent automatically when they become available. We do NOT make additional charges for this service.
    • In any case, we aim to deliver goods within a maximum time frame of no more than 10 days from receipt of order. If we are unable to do this, you will be contacted to make arrangements for any necessary refund to be issued.

    Goods can be returned for a full refund plus shipping if they are faulty or if the wrong item has been dispatched.

    If the goods have been dispatched as ordered, they can be returned for a refund, but only for the cost of the goods. We are not liable for the original shipping if they have incurred a delivery charge.

    All returns must be organised within 21 days of receiving your order.

    Items must be unused and still have their original packaging and labelling attached.

    If you are returning any goods for exchange, we are not responsible for the carriage back to us or the postage back to you again, please consider this when changing your mind.

    Nothing in these conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

    The PayPal account or card used originally for the purchase will be credited with the original purchase amount (less any delivery charge paid where appropriate.)

    If you are looking to exchange the goods for an alternative product or size, you will be liable for the extra shipping costs from our end.

    Any footwear returned to us must be in its original condition, including boxes and footbeds.

    Any items that we deem unhygienic will not be processed so please clean faulty goods if returning them.

    Please note that if items are returned you should ask for proof of postage from your post office as we reserve the right to refuse a refund if an item is lost whilst being returned. Any item bought online can also be returned in store within the terms and conditions of sale, just remember to bring along your receipt.
