Regular price €24.95The Clamcleat® CL257 Auto-Release cleat provides the neatest and best solution to the problem of how to lock-down a rudder blade yet allow it to flip-up if it hits the bottom or a solid obstacle in the water. The cleat holds ropes securely yet will release them immediately when the cleat is overloaded.
Once tripped, it can be easily reset in seconds by just pushing the cleat back down into its base. The CL257 is fitted with an adjustable cam so that the release tension can be set to suit the boat and local conditions. The cam is adjusted until the rudder blade is held down reliably under maximum sailing conditions. The CL257 will then be set so that the least strain is put on the rudder if it hits an obstacle. The CL257 can be fitted to virtually all lifting tillers and can also be used to protect centre boards. Fitting instructions are included with every CL257 and are also in the Downloads tab.
The CL257 is designed for 4-6mm roes, but can be used with larger ropes if you use a pulley block to give a 2:1 advantage.

We offer free shipping to all addresses in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland for orders over €75.00 (large, bulky and heavy items like kayaks and boats are excluded from free shipping). Orders under €75.00 will be charged a flat rate of €7.50.
Orders are shipped with both DPD Couriers and An Post.
All orders received before 12pm will be shipped the same day where possible (Monday-Friday). Orders after this time will be shipped the next day. Once the item is shipped the approximate delivery time is 1-2 days
You will receive a tracking number when your items are sent. This tracking will show updates once your order has been collected by our couriers.
Delays may be experienced during certain times of the year and if this is the case we will contact you as soon as possible via email.

All returns must be organised within 30 days of receiving your order. Refunds are available within the first 14 days after receiving your order. After this period we can offer an exchange or store credit.
Goods can be returned for a full refund plus any shipping paid at the time of purchase if they are faulty or if the wrong item has been dispatched.
Items must be unused and still have their original packaging and labelling attached.
Nothing in these conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
The PayPal account or card used originally for the purchase will be credited with the original purchase amount
If you are looking to exchange the goods for an alternative product or size, you will be liable for the extra shipping costs from our end.
Any footwear returned to us must be in its original condition, including boxes and footbeds.
Any items that we deem unhygienic will not be processed so please clean faulty goods if returning them.
Please note that if items are returned you should ask for proof of postage from your post office as we reserve the right to refuse a refund if an item is lost whilst being returned. Any item bought online can also be returned in store within the terms and conditions of sale, just remember to bring along your receipt.

Ideal for all fiberglass, metal, glass or painted surfaces. Note: if surface is oxidized or hazy, use One Step Heavy Duty Cleaner Wax with PTEF.

Directions
Before polishing, wash surface to remove grit and dirt (we recommend Star brite Boat Wash or Star brite Sea Safe Biodegradable Boat Wash). Shake bottle well. Apply evenly with a clean cloth to a small area in a circular motion while polish is wet. Star brite Premium Marine Polish with PTEF® will quickly dry to a haze. Wipe off haze using another clean, dry cloth. For best results, apply a second coat within 30 days. Two applications will provide exceptional protection against fading, chalking, rust, corrosion and general degradation. Oil, dirt and salt will not stick to the super slick surface and can usually be washed off with boat wash and water. NOTE: If surface to be treated is faded, chalking or oxidized, first use Star brite Premium Cleaner Wax with PTEF® to restore the finish."
