Loos Rig Tension Gauge for Rod

Regular price €1,095.00 Sale price €895.00The bigger brother of the Loos & Co. Professional wire tension gauges the RT10M and RT11M are specifically designed for rod rigging and higher tensions. Easy to use, just slide the rod between the two upper rollers and then pull the spring loaded gauge onto the rod, you will be able to measure accurately rig tension for quick and repeatable tuning. Each model covers a range of approximately 5% to 25% of the breaking strength of the rod with 3% accuracy. Rig tension can be adjusted with the gauge in place.
All models are manufactured of anodized aluminium, are non-corrosive and will give years of service. Detailed operating instructions are included with each tension gauge.

RT-11M for rod diameters 7.1mm, 8.4mm, 9.5mm

FEATURES
Manufactured from a glass reinforced nylon composite – High strength and light weight.
Immune to corrosion and electrolysis – Long life with no concerns over decreased performance due to corrosion.
Chemical resistant – Impervious to diesel, petrol and antifouling paints.
UV resistant – These fittings will not break down with ultraviolet light or discolour from the sun.
High quality surface finish – Will not discolour with green film as similar bronze fittings do.
Large operating temperature range – Suitable for all marine environments, from -20°C to +110°C.
INSTALLATION:
- If the valve is to be assembled to a skin fitting, ensure that the position of the skin fitting is such that it will be in a protected area, but readily accessible.
- Ensure threads of mating fittings have a parallel thread and it is clean and undamaged.
- Apply sealing tape or other suitable thread sealant to the thread of the Skin Fitting or Tail.
- Screw ball valve onto the mating fitting using the correct Ball Valve Spanner
- Tighten any attached fittings to a maximum of 16Nm (12ft/lbs).
- Check that the final position of the Ball Valve is such that it allows full movement of the handle from the open to closed position, and that it is clear of objects which may cause inadvertent operation.

No longer is a second person needed to hold the Skin Fitting in place on the outside of the hull and stop it from turning whilst the first person on the inside of the hull tightens the Skin Fitting Nut.
These tools also act as a holder to make applying sealant or epoxy to the Skin Fitting easier as well as keep work areas and hands clean.

We offer free shipping to all addresses in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland for orders over €75.00 (large, bulky and heavy items like kayaks and boats are excluded from free shipping). Orders under €75.00 will be charged a flat rate of €7.50.
Orders are shipped with both DPD Couriers and An Post.
All orders received before 12pm will be shipped the same day where possible (Monday-Friday). Orders after this time will be shipped the next day. Once the item is shipped the approximate delivery time is 1-2 days
You will receive a tracking number when your items are sent. This tracking will show updates once your order has been collected by our couriers.
Delays may be experienced during certain times of the year and if this is the case we will contact you as soon as possible via email.
We reserve the right to change these conditions for exceptionally large or heavy items, items of a hazardous nature or if an item has run out of stock and has to be specially ordered. We will keep you posted of any changes to the best of our ability.
We offer shipping to all addresses in the United Kingdom for a flat rate of €24.95. We may not be able to ship large, bulky or heavy items. Please call for such items. Please note customs charges may apply.

Inclusion of any product on our website is not a guarantee of it being in stock at the time of ordering. We stock one of the most comprehensive ranges of sailing equipment in the country. However situations beyond our control may occasionally result in an item(s) being temporarily unavailable.
- Items discontinued by manufacturers or that are no longer available: we aim to remove from our website as quickly as possible, but remember, we are only human after all.
- If we are unable to supply any item(s) within 7 days, you will be contacted by telephone or email to offer alternatives or cancel your order. Available to order items, marked to follow will be sent automatically when they become available. We do NOT make additional charges for this service.
- In any case, we aim to deliver goods within a maximum time frame of no more than 10 days from receipt of order. If we are unable to do this, you will be contacted to make arrangements for any necessary refund to be issued.
We want you to be 100% satisfied with any online order placed with us. Therefore if you wish to return an item for whatever reason you may contact us by email at sales@vikingmarine.ie to organise a return.
All returns must be organised within 30 days of receiving your order. Refunds are available within the first 14 days after receiving your order. After this period we can offer an exchange or store credit.
Goods can be returned for a full refund plus any shipping paid at the time of purchase if they are faulty or if the wrong item has been dispatched.
Items must be unused and still have their original packaging and labelling attached.
